In addition to the rock music orientated workshops Shetland Arts Trust will also promote a 'once-a-month' traditional music session for 12 - 18 year olds. This is aimed at giving those receiving 'formal' traditional music training in schools an 'informal' and fun outlet for these skills. These sessions will be promoted in the lounge bar of 'Da Lounge' in Lerwick (the home of traditional music in Shetland. The evening will, of course, be totally alcohol free. Additionally, Shetland Arts Trust operate a fully inclusive policy for all their music development initiatives, so young people of all ages can participate in the full programme. Shetland Arts Trust will deliver this part of its music development programme in partnership with Shetland Islands Council Community Services Division |
