Jack first came to musical view in Shetland as a member of the much admired Death by Monkeys (a name that caught the attention if nothing else) who played widely throughout the islands and also made a live appearance in the popular music venue Cafe Drummonds's in Aberdeen. Jack gained a place to study contemporary music and Perth College and is now based on the Mainland where he performs as a solo singer songwriter; in a duo with fellow Shetlander Vicky Gray (also a graduate of Perth College) and in a band called Little Green Machine with another fellow Shetlander guitarist Arthur Nicolson.
