Erin Sandison

Erin Sandison hails from Scalloway on the westcoast of Shetland, and is the latest in a seemingly ever-growing line of terrific young vocalists currently emerging from Shetland.

Erin, like many of her peers, started singing at a very early age, mainly at home and around her home village, and has since progressed to performing throughout Shetland and indeed beyond.

She tends to perform well chosen cover-versions of country or R & B standards (both modern and from the past) and has a very distinctive vocal style which, although already wonderful and mature for her years, has yet to fully evolve. If anything that's the exciting part.....

Erin recently claimed the runner-up slot in the 2007 Shetland Young Musician of the Year competition held during the week-long Shetland Schools Music Festival and also made an appearance on Glasgow's Celtic Connections festival open stage to great acclaim, which we suspect will simply be the first of many successful forays outside Shetland.
