Basically this section does what it says on the tin. Featured here are short histories of a number of Shetland artists who were the stars of their day, both at home and much further afield.
These were the individuals or groups who originally helped put Shetland music on the map, created a launch-pad for it outwith the islands and more often than not help build the foundations for its survival and continuation and who helped make it what it is today. In anybody's terms it is an illustrious list, and their presence and spirit, although they may be physically gone from among us, is still very much in evidence today. |
