Syzmik Klive

Another band with no allegiance to fiddles. Formerly known, somewhat controversially at times, as Suppository Business many see SK as Shetlands answer to the Manic Street Preachers - perhaps just a bit rockier.

Although employing a hopefully temporary, self imposed break at the moment, the band have released two hugely popular albums and a highly acclaimed single, all of which are self-penned tracks.

Attracting regular local crowds of 400+ at their peak the Syzmik Klive have supported a number of top-line acts during visits to and tours of Shetland. The pinnacle of this was probably when the band supported Scottish superstars Idlewild when they visited Shetland as part of a Steve Lamacq Radio 1 show broadcast from the islands, where the lads performed a live set to an estimated 11 million national / internet listeners.

Frustrated at the lack of success outside the islands and not surprisingly fed up of "playing the same venues to more of less the same faces all the time", the lads are currently taking a 'breather' from the scene, although with the right approach and persuation they could hopefully soon be back live and kicking before too long. Hopefully wider recognition and credibility will follow on from there.
