Jim Halcrow Dance Band

Regarding by many as Shetland's finest ever accordion player, Jim has been a stalwart of the Shetland music scene since the 1960's, when he first came to prominence as part of the legendary Shetland dance band the Hamefarers - a group that also included the late great Ronnie Cooper among others.

Since then he has fronted his own band, which now includes his son David - another fine accordion player.

In addition to playing Scottish and Shetland tunes Jim is almost as famous for performing a wide range of Scandinavian tunes and has performed many times throughout the region and on the Scottish mainland.

Dance music par-excellence from a man still very much at the top of his particular league.
