Frenzy Week

This years Shetland 'Fiddle Frenzy', Shetland Arts heady mix of fiddle school and fiddle festival, has been hailed by both organisers and attending students alike as "a terrific success".

The week long event, now in its fourth year, attracts fiddle students and devotees from across the globe, with visitors this years travelling from as far afield as Japan, American and Spain.

Shetland Arts acting Music Development Officer Richard Wemyss said "We've been delighted, not only with the response of interested fiddle school students, with almost 60 attending this year, but also with the numbers attending the regular evening concerts, a number of which have totally sold out. It certainly seems to be going from strength to strength".

Among the top line Shetland acts appearing at concerts during the week were Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, Filska and Fiddlers' Bid.
