Album Review - Spinnin Yarns

Let this CD take you to another side of Shetland where trows roam and the deeds are as dark as the Shetland winter nights.

'Spinnin Yarns' (telling stories in Shetland dialect) does what it says on the tin. Settle back with this CD and listen to some of Shetland's most acclaimed writers and storytellers take you to another world where trows rule and strange goings on are par for the course.

But hear the lighter side of Shetland too - in fact a whole range of great tales and poems that collectively add up to a full blown presentation of Shetland's heritage.

Music for the CD is provided by young fiddlers Ryan Couper and Adam Johnson

The CD was compiled by Filsket, a group of students from Brae High School who did this project as part of their Young Enterprise initiative.

Well done indeed guys!!!
