From the end of October Shetland can boast a new 'radio' station in the form of Zetcast Broadcasting Network.

Zetcast utilises on-line / downloadable 'podcasts' to deliver its service via the internet and a number of established local names and new voices to radio will be creating their own 'radio programmes' via the network.

The music on offer will include Shetland traditional music, heavy metal, country, indie, blues and.......well you name it and you will find it there.

One of the brains behind the venture Marvin Smith, who used to present XS All Areas on BBC Radio Shetland, said "The idea is to offer a new music service to the Shetland public and of course to the world via the internet. It should prove a great way to promote Shetland music and what's happening in the islands to a world-wide audience".
