Shetland's internationally acclaimed fiddle player Chris Stout is set to undertake what amounts to a world tour in February, March and April 2008, with a series of concerts, projects and appearances across four of the world's five continents during that time.

Chris is already in Norway where he is taking part in a trans-national project with a number of other musicians, which includes a range of concerts and educational initiatives.

From there Chris moves on to North America, South America (Brazil in particular) Australia (for the National Folk Festival) and finally Singapore where he will lead the Chinese National Orchestra in a specially commissioned piece of Celtic influenced music.

"This is an amazing trip for me and it's hard to know what to look forward to most" said Chris. "All the elements and visits are very different and very exciting in their own right so I will just take each as it comes. Working with the Chinese National Orchestra should be an amazing experience, very different to anything I've done before, so that should be one of many highlights".
