Two Shetland groups have (quietly) just returned from international trips to opposite ends of the globe. Country band May & Mackie have just returned from playing a number of gigs in the USA, where they were joined onstage at one of the concerts by no less a legend than Chris Ethridge of The Byrds and Flying Burrito Bros fame. Meanwhile in another part of the world, Australia no less, Swinging Fiddles have been making waves bigger than those found at Bondi Beach , when they performed a number of concerts in Melbourne (and the surrounding district) and Brisbane. While there they also visited Sydney and Ayers Rock (Ularu) Hopefully we will be able to bring you fuller reports of these visits when the bands let us have their stories.
