Shetland in trad music awards

Several nominees for this year's Scots Trad Music Awards have a Shetland connection.

The awards aim to "highlight Scotland's wonderful traditional music in all its forms and to create a high profile opportunity which will bring the music and music industry into the spotlight of media & public attention"

The sixth Scottish Traditional Music Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held in Glasgow's atmospheric "OldFruitmarket" venue on 6 December 2008 when the winners of each category will be announced.
