Seckou Keita Quintet finish UK tour in Shetland

Sengalese kora player and percussionist Seckou Keita and his Quartet will be playing a special concert at the Clickimin Centre Bowls Hall on the evening of Saturday 17th October as part of the national Black History Month activities. The visiting musicians will be supported by local percussion group EastaeWast.

Seckou, described as "the Hendrix of the kora", will be finishing his UK tour in Shetland and staying on in the islands to host a series of music and culture workshops.

The Seckou Keita Quintet features an international line up of Davide Mantovani from Italy on double bass, Surahata Susso from The Gambia on an eclectic assortment of percussion instruments, Samy Bishai from Egypt on violin and vocals, and the Binta Suso, also from The Gambia on vocals.
