An exciting opportunity for local musicians, tutors or instructors has arisen which could allow them to become actively involved with primary schools in the area via the Scottish Executive's Youth Music Initiative, currently admistered by the Scottish Arts Council (SAC)

Shetland Islands Council, along with all other local authorities in Scotland, receives an annual grant via the Youth Music Initiative allowing them to extend music provision in Shetland Schools, with the aim of involving ALL children in music making activity in a full and inclusive manner

A number of successful initiatives have already been introduced and now the Executive and the SAC are seeking to extend this still further and build upon the successful work undertaken to date.
