The concert is part of a string of international dates to promote their eighth studio album "Notes & Rhymes" released on 15 June and the single "Love Can Move Mountains" released 8 June that has been receiving extensive airplay on national and international TV and radio.

The Proclaimers last visited Shetland in 2003, playing to a sold out Clickimin Centre. Proclaimer Charlie Reid said, "We are very excited to be coming back to Shetland, we have very fond memories of our previous visit to the Clickimin Centre and are looking forward to a great night and to seeing some old faces and some new."

The concert is being organised by Edinburgh based promoters Regular Music and Shetland Art and is in association with the Shetland Blues Festival, which is happening the same weekend. The festival committee have organised the support act for the concert, Bex Marshall, a singer songwriter with a country tinged blues-rock style who is "delighted" to be on the bill with the Proclaimers.

Tickets for the Proclaimers concert, costing £25, will be on sale from 9am Saturday 20 June at the Shetland Box Office, Islesburgh Community Centre - 01595 745555
