New Music Company Formed

A new Shetland based music managment business has just been set up by Dave Kok, an Australian now living in Shetland.

Called Kok Managment, the company will manage and promote all kinds of contemporary music from the islands, especially rock and pop.

Dave already has a number of Shetland acts signed to his roster, including the band he fronts himself 'Ten Ton Dozer'. A number of the bands have already toured outside Shetland, to Scotland and Faroe among other locations.

Dave said "For many years Shetlands acclaimed traditional and folk music scene has been doing well in terms of opportunities and support, but little if anything has been done in a similar vein for the local rock scene. There are some great bands in the islands that very few people know about or who get the chance to perform outside Shetland, so I hope to put that right".
