Malachy Tour Triumph

One of Shetland's leading singer / songwriters, Malachy Tallack, has just returned from a very successful tour support slot with the internationally acclaimed Scottish band 'Runrig'.

The tour stretched over 17 dates in England, including a date at the legendary London venue the Shepherd's Bush Empire, and Malachy says it proved to be a highly positive experience for him.

"I wasn't sure what to expect" he said "but it turned out to be a really great experience with audiences seeming to enjoy my music and songs and really taking time to listen to them. The band were good blokes and no problem at all to tour with. I sold over 500 CD's during the tour, which was amazing in itself, and the lads from Runrig said in that respect alone I had been the most successful support act they had ever had, which is really very gratifying coming from them, a band who have done so many major tours over the years".

So what now for Malachy. "Well we'll just have to wait and see" he said. "I hope I can capitalise on this and will be getting back in touch with all those contacts I made during the tour, so hopefully I can build on the success of the tour and go on from there".

A long overdue success for one of Shetland's most talented and modest musicians. Watch this space!!!
