Lerwick Orchestra Seeks Members

The Lerwick Orchestra is seeking to attract new members to its regular Thursday night meetings and practises.

The society, which has existed in one form or another since 1897, meets every Thursday in the St Magnus Hall, Lerwick at 7.30pm.

Chairman Frances Taylor says "We would love to see new members coming along to join the society. No auditions are necessary but you do have to be able to read music and accept a challenge with a smile".

The principal conductor of the orchestra is Neil Morris, who is assisted by Alan Gifford. Both are music teachers / tutors in Shetland schools.

If you would like to join the orchestra or simply obtain more information on it, you should visit www.lerwickorchestra.co.uk or alternatively give Frances Taylor a call on (01595) 809 432 or e-mail
