The Shetland Hamefarin fornight kicks of this afternoon (14th June) with a concert by some of Shetland's finest young musicians and vocalists. The Hamefarin is a celebration to welcome Shetlanders from all around the world, and their descendants, back to their home islands. The packed programme includes a series of musical events including the "Flavour of Shetland" Festival (Thursday 17th June to Sunday 20th June) featuring a host of local bands, the "Tammy Anderson Tribute Concert" featuring Aly Bain and Catriona McDonald, "An Evening of Shetland Song", a "300 years of Shetland Fiddling" talk, musical evenings and authentic pub sessions.
